WINNERS of the 2023 Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards recently gathered to hear City of Gold Coast chief executive officer Tim Baker’s plan to meet the demands for the region’s incredible growth over the next eight years.

The lunch, which was held specially for last year’s annual category winners of the Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, was hosted by KMPG Gold Coast partner in charge Adam Twemlow, who serves as president of the Awards’ committee.

Mr Twemlow said the private winners’ lunch had become a popular tradition for the awards over the past 13 years.

“On the night of the gala awards, there is a lot going on and a lot of excitement, so it’s difficult for the winner of the annual categories to touch base with each other,’’ he said.

“The winners’ lunch allows members to meet and congratulate fellow winners and gives a few members of the awards committee to say congratulations as well.”

As winners of the encouragement award (highlighting the team as potential business of the year winners) as well as the education, training, and employment award, YTB Plumbing were invited to not only attend, but also have Peter represent the company as a special guest speaker on the day.

During his presentation Peter drew parallels between leadership in sports clubs and building a strong organisational culture.

By leveraging his knowledge from the realm of football clubs, Peter has been able to cultivate an environment where employees feel valued, motivated, and empowered to deliver exceptional service.

This emphasis on leadership and culture has undoubtedly played a pivotal role in YTB Plumbing's achievements and recognition at the awards.

Client Testimonial

"When working with large Tier 1 clients and builders it’s critical that we minimise downtime as much as possible and do everything we can to not interfere with their schedule or slow down their building timelines – which is why I need people around me that I can rely on. We’ve been working with the people from YTB Plumbing for around 2 years now for one primary reason – complete dependability. They are extremely organised, they get in and get out without any headaches, and they consistently do a great job out on site – it’s almost as if they’re an extension of our own operation."
