A DAY LIKE NO OTHER

With a day built around the power of community, the Keals Cup promises excitement, competition, camaraderie, and a chance to make a real difference with friends, family, and work colleagues / team mates. But don't just take our word for it, watch 2023's event below to see for yourself!

BEHIND THE EVENT

“6 years ago a beloved friend and father Jason Keal’s mental health took a turn for the worse. He battled his inner demons, and despite his external strength, he felt increasingly isolated. Tragically in 2023, Jason took his own life, which devastated everyone who knew him, including his family and young son, Cooper. This heart-breaking loss has opened my eyes to the alarming reality of men's mental health, particularly among tradesmen. Approximately 9 Australians die by suicide every day, with a staggering 75% of them being males. This event was created in honour of Jason’s memory and in our first year we were able to raise $36,000 to support his family and little boy’s future. We’re proud to be hosting this event for a second year in a row with this year’s funds going to the outback mind foundation to extend our reach"

WHAT TO EXPECT

The day will consist of a range of exciting competitions where you and your team will go head to head with other local companies on the Gold Coast Raw Challenge obstacle course and a series of physical and mental challenges with the winning teams of each challenge battling it out for the prestigious Keals Cup. But the day doesn't stop there... there will also be lunch and refreshing drinks provided, an incredible line up of guest speakers like former professional rugby league player Darius Boyd and former professional AFL player Barry Hall, music, amazing raffles, trade show tents, and plenty of excitement for the kids with a jumping castle and face painting. There's something for everyone at the 2024 Keals Cup! Last year we had over 300 people in attendance with a friendly and fierce level of competition and lots of memories and bonds created that will last a lifetime.

GROW AS A TEAM

Not only is the Keals Cup an exciting competition and an amazing opportunity to help raise money and awareness for mental health, it’s also a unique event that will strengthen team bonds, foster a culture of support in your company, and make a tangible impact on the lives of your team and staff. Push and support each other through tough challenges, cheer each other on, build each other up, conquer the Keals Cup, and take your team culture to the next level. This is an opportunity you do NOT want to miss. So gather your team, lace up your boots, and join us for a day that promises to be an unforgettable experience. We’re inviting all local companies to participate in this remarkable cause. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate on the day. Whether you run a hair dressing salon or subcontract to tier 1 builders… we’d love to see you there!

HELP SAVE LIVES

All funds raised from this event will go directly to the Outback Mind Foundation – a grassroots charity dedicated to promoting men's mental health and preventing further tragedies. With your support, we can provide education, support, and resources to men in rural, remote, and regional communities to help them gain and maintain good mental wellbeing and develop emotional literacy as well as aiming to reduce the risk of domestic and family violence through prevention and education for men on how to regulate their emotions and proactively manage emotional charge. The Outback Mind Foundation currently delivers fortnightly men's circles covering over 1000kms of Central and South East Queensland, providing a safe space for men to share emotions, build emotional capacity and learn from others life experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment without the use of drugs or alcohol. In the past 24 months alone 800 men have participated having a direct impact on reducing the risk of male suicide and improving  family lives.

Hear from a 2023 competitor...

“The 2023 Keals Cup was a cracker of a day and for an amazing cause. Men’s Mental Health is a topic that hits home for myself, our crew and so many of our closest people around us, so to be part of The Keals Cup and get behind a day with such an empowering message, surrounded by so many likeminded individuals from our industry, was something really special and something we all really appreciated. We learned new things, had conversations that would normally be hard, and bonded over some challenging but awesome events. Highlight of the day was attacking the events as a team and working together. Really re-enforced team effort, expectation and accountability. We held each other up when shit got hard, and pushed each other through, just as we should and as we do in the workplace together. The vibe was high, support and camaraderie all around between all teams and overall a really impactful day for the Keals Family and everyone involved. Peter and the YTB crew did a stellar job with the events, setup and organisation of the whole event. Couldn’t speak higher of the lads and our G3 Crew look forward to going again this year, maybe even with a second team! Uppa!”
