WATER MAIN UPGRADE

PROJECT DETAILS

There were two sections to this job. First was to upgrade approx. 30 meters of 375mm asbestos main with a new 375mm DICL main. The were numerous off sets, puddle flanges, tees, valves etc. in this 30 meter run. There was critical timing on this network shut down and works had to be completed as quickly as possible due the size of the main and the risk at stake for leaving a main like that turned off so long. The second section was to tee off the 375mm main and run a new 150mm main up along the verge which was 60 meters long. Off this main there was an end of line arrangement for a future extension and also a 150mm service to feed a new residential tower which is getting constructed. The team had to take there time and dig carefully on this job as there was existing services everywhere alongside power poles in the vicinity.
